Ranjit Sarkar

The artist, born in Kolkata in 1975, has an impressive academic background and a deep passion for the arts. After graduating from Calcutta University in 1997, they pursued their interest in Indian style painting under the guidance of Professor Samir Ghosh, who served as the department head at Chandpara Art College. This period of study allowed the artist to develop their skills and gain a deeper understanding of traditional Indian art forms. Their dedication to their craft led them to pursue a Diploma in Painting from DQ in Hyderabad from 2010 to 2012. This intensive program provided them with further knowledge and training, refining their artistic techniques and expanding their creative horizons. With a solid educational foundation and a diverse range of artistic influences, the artist brings a unique perspective to their work. Drawing from the rich artistic heritage of Kolkata and their studies under esteemed mentors, they create art that is both rooted in tradition and infused with contemporary elements.
